Traffic on I75 North at that part is not heavy at all. I merge onto it from I85N frequently at the height of rush hour and can easily get into any lane quickly. Certainly easier than driving all the way across to Northside and up.

It would be far cheaper and easier to build an entrance and exit from the I75 HOV lanes to 17th Street. Maybe even figure out a way to do I85 as well.

And then for those 2 traffic lights between the freeway and station (Spring and W Peachtree), just do a transit signal so the bus can zoom thru there.

No to using prohibitively expensive tunnels. 15th St bridge is the most efficient option.

This feels premature. Especially if Cobb pulls the same stunt that Gwinnett did and puts the referendum date on a non-election date.

What needs to happen first is that Cumberland needs to form a self-taxing district and expand transit into there first. Let a commuter rail line extend up to Cumberland Mall, which isn't enough but it would be a start, and BRT east on 285 and south on 75. Then let the rest of Cobb join in on the vote.

I think a good compromise for a future Cobb MARTA referendum date would be a presidential primary date where the incumbent is not running for reelection. Depending on how the 2020 presidential election shakes out, that might not happen until 2028.
