I was at a friend's house in East Cobb this weekend, in a neighborhood built on the side of Sweat Mountain. I was shocked to see very clear views of the Perimeter, Buckhead, Midtown, and Downtown skylines from his front porch! I had no idea that some areas 25 miles outside of the city have such clear views of the beautiful skyline. Has anyone else seen skyline views from a house in the suburbs, or is my friend's house extremely rare?

You can see the skyline in Forest Park, and in the hills of Conley( Around Moreland and Boudercrest Roads).

Were you in Highland Pointe or The Summit?

There are also great skyline views from in the Stoneoak Pointe neighborhood on Blackjack Mountain in East Cobb.

Also--the East Mableton, South Mableton, and South Smyrna offer spectacular views of the skyline.

And don't forget that sensational view at the "I-20 crest" when coming in from the west.

That is a really amazing view up there!

I know people used to go to The Overlook parking deck in Vinings for skyline views...

Oh yes! Is it Buckner Rd? Or something "ridge"? I was stunned at the views the first time I drove along that road. Very cool drive, IMO.
