I am moving from out of state and recently bought a home in Suwanee, GA in Forsyth County. Previous home owner used Suwanee EMC for electricity, is Suwanee EMC the only option I have or can I go with Georgia Power?

There are some parts of Forsyth that use GeorgiaPower,

But you have to use whoever services that area. Suwanee is a good EMC, There rates are cheaper then GeorgiaPower, and there customer service is top notch, and local (on GA 9 next to the movie theater, on the way into Cumming).

Thanks - I never used a cooperative electric company, so was bit apprehensive about that.

Only difference is you "own" Part of the EMC (There is a $5 membership fee),

The Power is the same, it comes off the grid,

They return Extra Capital (Profit) that they over recovered on there rates (I think its a running return after 10 years),

If/When you move out of there coverage area, keep them updated with your current address for next 10-20? You will get a small check every year for each year you lived in there area.
