If he has a stable living situation for the moment, he could always offer to do some work for free in exchange for references. Restoring your reputation is the most important thing in coming back from this, having some good references can go a long way.

I just came back on and was surprised to see so many replies! I want to thank each of you for taking the time to post and offer your advice and help. You have each been helpful with your information. I thank you and will check into and discuss with my son the things you have told me about. Thank you again and may God bless each of you.

I think it's silly that felons aren't given a change to live productive lives after paying their dues. American prison system and legal system is so f*cked up.

I agree, Ansley. Back in the day we hired several people who'd had trouble with the law and they turned out fine.

I do hope young people are aware of the impact of a felony conviction.
