According to Midtown Alliance, an 18-story Hampton Inn and Suites at the corner of West Peachtree and 15th streets, next door to Arts Center MARTA station, was presented to the neighborhood’s Development Review Committee (DRC) this week.
Quote:
While the project was approved last year, a redesign that relocated the lobby to the top level of the hotel and added a second curb cut to the parking garage has left the project in limbo.

Because of the impact of changes on 15th Street—the new arrangement would be troublesome for pedestrians, apparently—the DRC requested that the developer revisit the proposal before receiving approval.

One key to the desirability of the building is an amenity not found anywhere else—a 1-acre private park in the center of the development.

Nice. Like the Eixample in Barcelona. More bldgs should take this approach.

23-story tower close to being finished. Was a 7 story parking garage really needed when it next door to a MARTA station?
Quote:
Plans call for a 356-unit building atop seven stories of parking. While details are still scant, it’s safe to assume high-rise living here will entail plenty of high-end amenities to compete with the bevy of flashy new buildings within earshot.
