Yeah I'm surprised at the number of Black homeless men and women in Atlanta. I know some might be due to laziness, mental issues. However, I think the majority become hopeless or simply give up because they can't get a job because of jail or prison record. I often wonder why HSBU's and the city of Atlanta didn't build a corporate and residential campus to try retain graduates from those nearby schools and spur sustainable investment in the West End. Generally black graduates who do stay in Atlanta. Leave the Vine City and West End community quickly.

Not a surprise, I'm more bothered at the fact that so many seem to have no regard or investing into the significantly into the historical black business and cultural areas in the City of Atlanta. I'm originally from a city with a significant black population and business class, and they try to reinvest in their hometown, so the lack of interest by the natives and transplant black business and professional class here is alarming. Too many of them here are too busy trying to rush to the suburbs and exburbs rather than fighting for and/or reinvesting in their hometown or new home city. In fact, it is like too many bougie and classist individuals of the black professional and business class that needs a reality check because it is coming whether they are ready or not...

So true as some blacks who are wealthier seem to have I got mine attitude and leave me alone. I know of no other culture as I'm currently in Korea on vacation right now, who thinks like that Even when I'm eating or shopping in Cascade the ugly and arrogant looks are appalling. I'm like wow in my mind. You have no idea who a person may be. Oh how blacks need a revelation on transferring wise knowledge and sustainable generations wealth. Some of the most top black executive talent in World is here in Atlanta, but often some carry the most duplicitous mindsets.

most blacks that get these degrees work for white people. Then go to live with them for safety. Nothing wrong with this. Most blacks do this. A lot of the whites think we are trying to take over their neighborhoods and in Atlantas case think we are trying to take over the city, look at how theyve been running north. I still say that black and successful thing is a myth in Atlanta. A lot of folks out here starving and hurting, so i dont flex or shine in front of them. but one has to wonder where do hbcu students work or go? What black owned fortune 500 are they working for?

You missed my point. It should simply be a choice to reside in area like West End, but disinvestment gives no options. Look at Tech Square and how graduates, jobs, retail that has recently exploded in the immediate vicinity. Why can't West End with all it's educational weatlh reflect what is happening at Tech Square.

Huh? That's so not true. Most black educated people work for a variety of people including other black people or themselves not mainly for white people. That dubious mindset of moving to majority white neighborhoods "to get way from crime" and "for safety" is one of the most tired and silliest one that mainly exists amongst those whom are socially aware of the real world. Crime, particularly violent crime, is everywhere, so that is just plain ignorant.

Many native blacks are starving and hurting because those we just mentioned are too damn elitist and classist for their own good. You don't have open your front door to anybody, but at the very least one should give back to their community whether it is their native-born or adopted due relocation. That is the real problem going on here.

Atlanta's prominence amongst black professional and business class is as prevalent as DC, Philadelphia, Houston, and Chicago. Charlotte, Raleigh-Durham, and Richmond are on the rise as well for this recognition. This is no myth.

Yep...The bougie and classist ones on one side, the hoodrat freeloaders on the other...then you have that gray area.

FALSE FALSE FALSE.....again I say show me the fortune 500 company in Atlanta ran by blacks. Not trying to beef Jero, its a serious question. Dont tell me about exceptions man. Exceptions are not a part of the majority. Majority of blacks work for Coca Cola, Home Depot, Delta, UPS, Grady, Marta, NCR, Norfolk Southern, etc etc....none of these companies are RAN by blacks we just work there. Thats all I am pointing out, dont be offended its the truth.
