I should have just made the comment without quoting anyone and I've deleted the reference to your post. My mistake.
Cool, and no worries.

For my part, I think the chances of me ever using a BRT line along U.S. 41 approach zero. I think the chances that Cobb will need such a solution to move people to work, to school, and to entertainment options in the area approaches 100%. If the proposal has merit, it's one that will help the county grow and prosper in the future. It doesn't need to be an "amenity" that I can use personally to gain my support.

Have you seen the amount of people on CCT 10 buses? Maybe the people of East Cobb wouldn't use it, but there is a lot of demand in that corridor.
As a resident, any benefit to the businesses along the corridor is a benefit to them because higher commercial tax income will result in lower residential taxes or better QOL benefits.

I agree with you. But in this instance, I don't think it will get anyone out of their cars, therefore, no advantage to drivers.

In a place like Cobb, you have to have an advantage over the almighty car, and honestly, they're not wrong for that. It's why people will ride the train but not the bus. The bus offers no advantage over driving. A train or BRT with dedicated lanes does.

I think Cobb will find success with BRT that uses the new Billion dollar lane, but outside of that, halfway BRT isn't getting choice riders out of their car.

That will be used by the express buses, unless GDOT plans on building stations along the HOT lanes it will be a straight shot for express buses that use the corridor.

I assume CCT could have express routes with a couple of stops in Kennesaw then uses the Billion dollar lane to get down to Atlanta. I know that isn't BRT, but it would be an advantage. But I guess GRTA covers that.

I thought I remembered a plan to actually have stations along the Billion dollar lane, wonder why they abandonment that? That would have been a good idea.

Thank you Frankster87, the thought of many down here is "If I can't use it everyday, then it's useless". This short-sighted and regressive thinking has and will continue to hold the Atlanta metro back. As great as Atlanta (metro) is now it would be even greater if the region wasn't held hostage by small minds.

He is trying to bring reliable transit to a county that doesn't realize they need it if they want to continue growing. He knows Cobb County needs it, but the majority of voting citizens are too hard headed to know.
