Story

Quote:
Atlanta has proposed a $510,000 new road at Fort McPherson because Tyler Perry Studios plans to close all public access to major streets that are part of the 330 acres it is buying.

That means the city must build a new road that parallels the existing Walker Street so it can access property that will be used by the Veterans Administration, the Associated Credit Union and the federally mandated services for the homeless.

A resolution has been prepared to go before the board of Invest Atlanta to spend up to $510,000 in the Campbellton Road Tax Allocation District fund to pay for the new city road on the Fort McPherson property.
Quote:
According to the budget included in board documents, MILRA is expected to cover $100,000 of the new road’s $610,000 cost.
So, a private developer wants to close a public road, serving Federal properties, and have the local tax payers foot the bill?

Hopefully the good taxpaying citizens of Atlanta have prepared for our "fair" Mayor a prompt and proper one finger salute.

Just guess which finger.
