Looks like Fulton, Cobb, Gwinnett and DeKalb made the list.

It sure does. If this has been covered in another thread I will ask the moderator to delete this one.

Not at all haha!

Just pointing out that the emerging mega regions model is just as relevant today as it was when it was first shown.

The traffic in Cobb and Gwinnett certainly makes it feel like it's true. Perhaps because of the availability of public transit in many areas of Fulton, I really have not had much of a problem anywhere there that even almost compares to the aforementioned counties except maybe in Alpharetta. I rarely go to DeKalb so I don't have an opinion.

I'm curious about California because the map shows a big chunk of land. I realize it is a large state land-wise, and it gets a lot of electoral college votes so it's not like I did not realize the population is high. Even given all that, it does have significantly more blue area for counties than any other state. I wonder if they are packed in tight like some of the smaller states or just have a lot more room to spread out.

San Bernadino County is mostly desert. Just eyeballing it, I'd say 90% is sparsely populated.

I think most of the population is just at the west end, so it's size is misleading.

Yeah, San Bernardino county has over 2,000,000 people, but only 100 people per square mile on average because so much of it is desert. For comparison, Dekalb County has 25 times more population density.
