Seems like many over there are for sale:

The realtor's description is quite understated:

Quote:
Perhaps the most compelling private residence to ever be offered to market in the history of Atlanta. Situated on seventeen private and pristine park-like acres with substantial Chattahoochee River frontage. Unrivaled amenity package, including resort-style infinity-edge swimming pool, lighted tennis court, fully equipped gym, spa, theater, hobby house, underground ballroom with catering kitchen, formal and informal gardens, entire estate generator, guard house, caretakers suite Presidential-level security system. Two gated secured residential entrances.
Hope it sells quick and for what he's asking...

According to Zillow, the taxes are $291,000+ per year. But I guess if you can afford $25 million, that's just a drop in the bucket.

He's moving out to Douglas County, AFAIK. He picked up a bunch of acreage near Sweetwater State Park

Maybe he would like to downsize to something more realistic.

I have known folks who went off and built a huge house and then found out it was a lot more trouble than they imagined.

The market for these mega houses is pretty limited, too. Sometimes you can sell the land to be subdivided into other lots, but once you have cleared and graded the property that gets more complicated. Especially when you have to deal with watershed issues. We knew a fellow who built a 22,000 sf house and it took him several years to sell it.

Then there is the big question: One night you are sitting there and you look around and say, "What on earth was I thinking?"

He'd have to buy The Biltmore or Hearst Castle, I suppose... Wow.
