Are there any renderings in that article? It's behind a paywall what I ain't paying for!

I know it's just a submission so far, so maybe there are no real plans.

Would be a great opportunity to work with MARTA to extend the Green Line ~2000 ft and one more stop, to integrate with their development, and the park.

It'd be great if they preserved ROW for Green Line extension and station at their development.

I'm not a subscriber, but it's pretty easy to access the text. (That's all I'll say.) I would gladly subscribe if the price were reasonable. It's ridiculous. Here's the article text:

Atlanta developer Wood Partners has filed plans for a $250 million project that could eventually put 700 residential units and office space alongside the future Westside Park at Bellwood Quarry.

Wood Partners wants to transform the 19-acre Dykes Paving & Construction site at 1350 West Marietta Street, sparking one of the largest developments on the Westside in recent memory.

The real estate firm, known for apartment and condo developments, has the site under contract. It recently submitted a rezoning application to the city of Atlanta.

Its plans will also be reviewed by Atlanta Regional Commission and state agencies as a development of regional impact. The project, which would feature multiple phases and take several years to complete, may also include up to 176,000 square feet of office space, townhouses and a restaurant.

In coming weeks, Wood Partners plans to begin meeting informally with neighborhoods. There’s no indication when the firm may complete the deal to purchase the property.

Westside neighborhoods surrounding the park and quarry are poised for major changes over the next decade. The catalyst is the long-term plan for the park, which will feature an overlook providing scenic views of the quarry-turned-reservoir and the Atlanta skyline.

Work began in September 2016 to convert the quarry into a reservoir. The city recently unveiled a $26.5 million first phase of the project. Once completed, it will be the largest park in the city, 100 acres larger than Piedmont Park.

Last year, 100 acres around the park and quarry was pitched as a possible contender to land Amazon’s $5 billion second headquarters. The proposal included land along West Marietta Street and a possible expansion on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway.

Over the next few years, it will be interesting to watch how such a large infusion of investment into areas of the Westside is balanced with ongoing questions surrounding affordability.
Mixed use, built in phases. It's the very large Dykes construction parcel which you can see on Google Maps at that address.

The 2 parcels east of this one, towards the corner of West Marietta St and Marietta Blvd, I don't think are in use. That's where a MARTA station could go. Which could have more TOD built along with it, plus maybe even a MARTA parking deck.

With the proposed Boone infill station, and lots of improvements to the existing Bankhead station, then potentially you could have a much better Green Line, with 3 stations and TOD at each of them. With the Beltline right along the area.

That famous scene of the quarry/reservoir with the skyline behind it (that you know everyone's going to take a million pictures when the park is open), would be even cooler with an MARTA train also in the scene.

Oh god please don’t build a MARTA deck. Ya have serious issues with car decks but are fine with bus ones. Also, MARTA trains would ruin the skyline view. Put it underground.

Bankhead and infill-Boone both can be neighborhood-level stations, with little to no parking, pedestrian access and bus bays. Extend Green Line, at grade or in trench, to future-Howell Junction Station (this site) would have ART bus service to the future Moores Mill Transit Center, via Marietta Blvd.

Agreed totally, that's a great and complete vision for the Green Line and the Westside.

1. Boone - infill station on the current line, no parking, direct connection w/ Beltline right on it, and connect with high quality bus line on Boone Blvd

2. Hollowell - renovated and renamed Bankhead station, no parking, new TOD projects, connect with crosstown LRT to North Avenue, connect with high quality bus on Hollowell/Hollywood Rd

3. Westside Park - new station near the corner of West Marietta St and Marietta Blvd, lots of integrated TOD, integration with the park, MARTA park & ride deck, high quality bus on Perry Blvd/W Marietta St, and ART on Marietta Blvd out to planned Moores Mill Transit Center, with minimal stops, and high frequency.

Westside Park wouldn't need a P&R deck, no Cobb commuters are driving that far 'in' to catch a train to downtown. The Moores Mill Transit Center will have CobbLinc service to it as well.
