I concur... LOVE the colors. Love the logo.

Not impressed by the name being that there's already D.C. United in MLS and the Minnesota United FC already play in the NASL.
As well as Manchester United, Newcastle United, West Ham United, Sheffield United, Leeds United and so on...

I just wish it were a name unique to Atlanta.

But oh well... GO UNITED. I'm already a fan...
"A fan of who? United? Oh, DC..."
"No, not DC..."
"Oh, so Manchester then?"
"No, not them either..."
"Then who?"
"Atlanta man!!! Atlanta United!"
"Oh, that's a team? Why'd they choose that name?"
"I don't know... But I'm a fan"

Kind of weird seeing the colors: Red, Black and Gold used like that and thinking Arthur Blank owns this team... And United is using the slogan "Atlanta is United"

Was Atlanta not united? Was Atlanta divided? How?
I guess I can think of a few ways... Race? Well, unfortunately that's still true cause there are still stupid people. But what's that have to do with sports? Hmmm... Wait, sports? Well... Yeah I guess... Come football season, half of Atlanta are true to Atlanta, Red clay bred Black Pack, Dirty Birds and the other annoying half are fake Who Deez/Who Dat fans...
Wow, look at that... Arthur Blank is the owner of that Dirty Bird team, huh? Wait a minute... Those colors look familiar.

Red & Black just like the Falcons. And Black & Gold just like the Aints... Hmm... "Atlanta is United?" Red, Black & Gold?

Coincidence maybe... ? Maybe.....

The way around this confusion in England is to usually just drop the "United" when referring to the team. So it becomes just Newcastle, or West Ham, or Leeds, etc. However, this isn't a hard and fast rule. If you talking about a fixture where it has been established that say Newcastle is playing, you can then afterward refer to them as United.

The only exception to this is Manchester United which gets shortened to "Man U". Why? Since there are two major clubs named Manchester ____ in Manchester, simply calling the team "Manchester" would be even more confusing than referring any of the United teams by just calling them "United".

^^^This is what I'm talking about... The lack of uniqueness has caused such a confusion that it has to be explained like this... I hear you [waronxmas], but I personally think it's a little ridiculous and should be unnecessary.

Personally, I wish they just went with either "Terminus" or "Resurgens"
Don't even care if they add the SC or FC... Terminus FC sounds pretty cool. And is super unique to Atlanta only.
Same with Resurgens, but a name like Terminus with that red, black & gold would've been GREAT

My suggestions that I thought would have been better, more unique, more "swag"

Terminus FC

Resurgens Atlanta FC

Default Corporate uniform sponsor?

So... Now that we finally know the team name, colors and logo, what company do you think will be the company to sponsor the uniforms and brand their logo on the jerseys?
*I think it would be a mistake to just assume it would be Home Depot. I'm guessing Arthur will rather sell that jersey space rather put his own company on there... But who knows, right?

(By the way I think it's a stupid concept to have a commercial business as the dominant logo on any sports uniform. And they say Americans are commercial... Europe & soccer/futbol takes the cake. But what do I know?).

Here are a few uniform concepts that I've seen online
(a lot of them were before the team colors, logo and name were released).

I think I like Delta on the uniforms...

Will any one support the Silverbacks when AUFC takes the field in 2017?

Will the Silverbacks make it to 2016?
