I will wait to see what they offer. I would like to see it, see specifics. But I'm not 100% in.

I like that they may be separating Horse tracks from Casinos for as far as voting goes. I'm close to 100% in there.

I'm fine with the idea.

However, lets be realistic about this. The money will flow, just like the lottery from the poor to the middle class who value education more than the poor. The lottery and gambling is largely a tax on the stupid (unless you can actually afford to lose). Poor people get poorer. A few thousand people get $10 an hour jobs (and stay poor). The Hope Scholarship money will flow to those who have been brought up to value education (not the poor).

Real talk.

And you're eating up the sales pitch from a corporation that's a leader in one of the shadiest industries in the world. And if MGM is telling the truth, that the majority of their business comes from the hotel, entertainment, and convention business, then those are jobs that would come to Atlanta anyway as more new hotels, convention facilities, and entertainment venues open. We don't need a casino, with all the problems it would bring, to achieve that. Like I keep saying, we're not desperate, we can do better.

I suggest you moving to Iran if you like being told what to do from your gov. Also cigarettes and alcohol have done more harm than casinos but im sure you still support alcohol sales. All im saying is you cant support alcohol and not a casino. Im sure you support the sale of lottery tickets. Close to 88,000 deaths annually are a result of alcohol. 480,000 deaths are a result of cigarettes yet you still support the sale of alcohol and cigarettes but you are against a casino. GTFOH

And building a casino does not mean a city isnt desperate. Maybe in Detoilet but not here. A casino is a business. Opening up a casino is the same as opening up any other business. I guess the National Harbor outside of DC is desperate then. Saying Atlanta is desperate because of a casino but you arent against banning alcohol, cigarettes, strip clubs and lottery tickets makes absolutely no sense at all

I'm fine with casinos too. As long as they are in Alabama and North Carolina.

Horse tracks are struggling all over. They are all trying to get some sort of gaming. Also horse tracks open up the state for tribal casinos.

Do you support alcohol sales?

I am not seeing the analogy between casinos and cigarettes and alcohol. Strip clubs, maybe yes.

In any event here is a pretty good article on the pros and cons.

I have no issue with casinos or any other area that wants a $1B MGM casino, but I do not want it in downtown Atlanta.
very much like the MGM being built outside DC, they are building it outside a major city with good economy. Atlanta has a good, diverse economy and we do not need a casino downtown, but if other counties want it, looking at you Cobb, then I have no objection.
