So basically it will only be 2 in GA and they will both be in Atlanta. I wonder who will be the other casino to join the mix? Hopefully its Wynn

I just don't see a negative impact to the areas people would want to live by developing this in the Gulch.

The virtual no mans land/zombieland south of the tracks is 100x the deterrent to residing there than a casino is. Plus, the Gulch is just going to be a bit isolated thanks to the way existing buildings are developed around it. I'm not seeing a significant impact.

And that is exactly why that area has struggled: stadiums and fortress government buildings. If we want to legalize casinos everywhere in GA great, but we need to stop pushing these massive fortress style developments on to downtown that kill street vibrancy so it has a chance to recover.

If you want it in you and your neighbors want it in your backyard, great. But this is not the development residents want to see in downtown.

What residents? You talking about people that live downtown or people OTP? Basically the same people that said a ferris wheel wouldn't work downtown?

A casino would take money away from the churches. We can't have that.

I would rather have to surface lots over this because two surface lots are easy development locations for suitable development.
