Hi! I'm working with Atlanta magazine on an article about urban wildlife.

I want to know if any of you ever had any issues with wild animals (foxes, snakes, raccoons, bears ant the like) being in your neighborhood.

If you have any stories, share them here! You can include what area you saw them in (you do not have to give me any personal details)!

If you need some help with the type of stories about the animals, maybe you can describe an encounter you had or something silly you saw the animal doing (eating the tomatoes from your garden, for instance).

Thanks so much for your help!

Just possums, hawks and owls here in East Point. I'm sure there are snakes too and I saw a raccoon once but that isn't very prevalent. Other neighborhoods closer to the creeks and rivers have foxes.

I have a possum that lives under my shed at the moment. My cat is trying to make friends with it.

I've seen a goat walking down Memorial in Grant Park...but I don't think it wandered from its natural habitat

They've trapped a few in Druid Hills and relocated them. They've been killing pets. I know someone who lost their cat. I saw one walking down the Druid Hills Golf Course during one of those snow days a couple of years ago.

I saw a buck on the Emory campus just before sunset one day. It was having a drink out of Candler Lake near the Emory President's house.
