My daughter and son in law are moving to the area for work. They were thinking Sandy Springs or Marietta.
I need to know which has the safest areas and apartment complexes? Thanks in advance.

They both have good and bad areas - the best area is close to where they will work.

What is their budget, perhaps we can offer specific recommendations

2 bedrooms around 1000.
Do you know which area they would look at in Marietta that would be the closest for her or which would you stay away from? Thanks

Where will they be working?

That's the most important question.

Any children? Do schools matter?

Please provide us with as much specific information as possible (within reason for the internet)

We are doing our best to help you but you are not directly answering our questions.

This is a metro area of 5.5 million people there are many nice and some not so nice areas all over the place. There are a multitude of hospitals all over the area.

Traffic can be horrible at times and therefore for quality of life we typically recommend keeping your commute as short as possible. Once you give us specifics as to where you will be commuting and your budget (which you have already provided) we can give you recommendations as where to start looking.

Goodness! I can think of 5-6 "hospitals" off the top of my head, just in my little pocket of the metro area!

If you can tell us at which hospital they will be working, we can offer suggestions for 2 bed apts for $1000...

Let me explain why more information on exactly where they work is needed... Asking Sandy Springs or Marietta as far as commute is like asking Bel Aire or Malibu. They may look pretty darned close on a map, but the commute will be much different... And it really matters where they are commuting to. Heck, we could even throw in Vinings, Buckhead, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Smyrna, Dunwoody and Roswell. All have great places to live, all right around the general area you're talking about. All have different commutes to whatever place they are working, by magnitudes potentially.

They will have a better chance of finding a decent 2 bedroom for $1,000 in Marietta than Sandy Springs.

Keep in mind that Marietta is much larger than Sandy Springs and even though they border at one point, Marietta also borders with Smyrna, Kennesaw, Austell, Roswell, and perhaps other cities. It's pretty spread out.

Like a previous poster said, both areas have good and bad complexes; however, both areas are also relative safe so that's good. The commute would be my deciding factor.
