Atlanta is lucky to get Keith Parker. Hope, and pretty sure, the success will continue.

The only thing I wish and thought he would have addressed sooner is signage. I've noticed they are updating Oakland City with new signage along the tracks, which is embarrassingly overdue. It doesn't cost $$$$ to keep signage maintained. It's lazy that most of the station signs along the track in any outdoor station look as faded and rusted as the currently do. At College Park station, the sign at main entrance to the station has been missing for about 2 years.

2012

Looks like they are addressing it, hope they continue throughout the system, it's way overdue. That's really my only big complaint about MARTA. KP is the best chance of fixing all this and he's be doing a great job so far otherwise. Only so much one can do at a time.

If a few missing signs are the only problem that MARTA has, then I'd say it's doing pretty good.

I'd rather have missing signs, than the infrastructure issues WMATA has had in the past 2 decades.

He is a very personable guy. I meet him at the Streetcar Opening Ceremony and thanked him for everything he has done for MARTA.

MARTA's doing well, but the sign problem is out of control. Such an incredibly easy fix to siginifcantly enhance the experience in the stations and perception of the system.

As MARTA wants to expand to the suburbs and build new projects, it helps to sell the product. They are doing so many significant things to improve the system, this one minor thing really hurts the overall perception of the system. To any visitor or casual user, it looks like they don't care about upkeep. This casual user may be from the suburbs, say Cobb or Gwinnett. Who may justifiably think, I don't want MARTA, it's kind of slummy. Or, I don't want my tax dollars to go that organization, they obviously don't know how to run an organization. How often have you heard that when discussing MARTA?

Now, they are wrong, but it doesn't matter, because they vote. A relatively small investment in sign maintenance will do wonders to change the perception and experience of MARTA. This one constant issue tends to quickly paint a bad picture of what really goes on within the system, which has been pretty impressive of late.

Easy significant fix.
