My family is relocating to the Alpharetta area and we are considering moving into the Gran Forest Neighborhood. My question is, is this a nice, family friendly area? It seems fairly close to Alpharetta where my husband would work. How is the commute?

Is there shopping close by? The schools seem to be rated well in that area.

Also, on the map there seems to be what looks like a construction site (See red arrows in attached picture). Can anyone tell me what this is?

We want to make a good decision and know fairly little about the area, so any feedback about this neighborhood is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Shopping All the BigBox's 1/2 mile NorthWest of there
Shopping LifeStyle Mall 1 mile SouthWest of there

Kroger, Publix, Ingles (SuperMarkets) all with in about 5 miles.

Normal Mall ~10 miles south in Alpharetta @ E10
Outlet Mall ~15 miles north on GA400/US19 .

The Red Arrow is a Quarry

Schools I think that feeds to Forsyth Central HS. All are good schools.

New HS is scheduled to open in Aug 2018, that will cause district wide HS redistricting.

ES & MS in Aug 2016 will cause some Redistricting, Might effect that area.

GA400 does start to backup from 7am-8am in the exit 14-11 range, Slow but moving. Get better after exit 12 when a lane get added. A new lane is scheduled to be added from Exit 17 to exit 12 in the next 2 or 3 years.
