We are relocating to Cherokee county GA from Pittsburgh PA. We are looking at condos or townhouses. Does anyone know anything about Overlook at the sixes or River bend? We are concerned about noise between adjoining walls and any other complaints current residents may have. Thanks!

Knowing more about your age group, rent/buy, and work/retired status would help. The Overlook starts in the $300's and IMHO you can get better for the same or less in livelier areas. Don't know anyone who lives there. Hope someone responds. The area where Overlook is located is pretty boring, I think. You might want to look into The Village at Towne Lake. One of my former neighbors moved there and love it. Woodstock is more interesting and upscale than Canton and closer to Atlanta for activities there. The biggest issue is where you'll be working and how far you would have to commute. If you want to be further out and you're retired, I know a guy who retired here from Denver. He loves his home at Laurel Canyon. He stays busy with the people and activities there. Don't let yard work push you into multiple housing. Landscapers are reasonable and some subdivisions include it for your front yard. The cost of landscapers can be less than HOA fees. If you never lived in the South, you might want to rent for a year and see how you like it year round. Georgia is really cold in the winter (yes teens and twenties) and unbearably hot and humid in the summer. If you don't have to live here for your job, you might not like it. In a townhouse, pests are more of a problem than noise. Assessments and HOA fees can be burdensome over time. Good luck !!!

I hope there's a good reason for living way the heck out there, especially if you're looking at condos. That's as far out as Alpharetta.

Where will you be working?
