That makes 29 counties.

I tell you; when I'm driving into the Oconee National Forest south of Madison, I can feel the bustling urbanity and ambiance of Atlanta. Same with when I'm driving past the farms in Meriwether County, for that matter.

All it means is there are a certain percentage of people there that travel to and from Atlanta for work and commerce.

I was wondering when Buckhead was going to be officially part of Atlanta Metro!

It will probably add more confusion. Do you want the Buckhead in Atlanta city limits or the city of Buckhead in Atlanta Metro?

To further add to the confusion, they also have new sidewalks

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.5683...2!8i6656?hl=en

With an area os .8 sq mi. and 64 households and 171 people, luckily, the only thing that might confuse people is the town name on the exit sign on I-20.

I did find some irony to the situation though. Just north of the town is a tiny suburban style neighborhood that would have doubled the city's population.

I know; it's just crazy that metro Atlanta is now 120 miles wide.

How long before Heflin, AL is part of the metropolitan area?

Cleburne County (Heflin) is already part of the Atlanta designated market area (where you get your TV and radio stations from). Chambers County is already part of the Atlanta CSA.

I'd give it 10-15 years, especially if western development picks up. Haralson and Carroll right next door are part of the Atlanta MSA.

Wow that's crazy. Is Jackson County part of it yet? I see it as a bigger part of the MSA than Morgan. Jefferson has some decent development along 129. Obviously there's Athens and Gainesville nearby but a lot of activity is from metro Atlanta and people travelling to/from Atl.

TV markets are drawn from entirely different criteria. All of Utah is in the SLC DMA for example.
