I rarely leave my virtual home here and check out other city forums, but I got to looking and I think Atlanta has the third highest amount of posts of any city on City Data forums as a whole. I never would have guessed.

If I looked at everything - NYC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston, San Antonio

Interesting, I have gone into other sections some and they all seem pretty dead.

I must agree also that Atlanta's forum have more active threads than some other cities but I wouldn't be able to rank how high. The other forum I may frequent more is the city vs city.

Since I've been in DFW for over a decade now, I try to go on there and find something of interest, but it is not near as interesting as the Atlanta page. I feel I know so many characters here, we talk about so many interesting subjects.... all with an Atlanta twist of course, but the variety and breadth of subjects fascinates me.

The Dallas page is almost all centered around the original purpose of CD.... people asking about neighborhoods.... which is the best for crime rates, schools, resale, etc, etc. Very Real Estate focused. Of course that happens on the Atlanta forum as it should, but that is not the majority of posts.

Interesting that this group is one of the more active but I understand why. It's the great people that visit and contribute. This page feels like one big crazy dysfunctional family. And I love it.

As another Atlanta to Dallas transplant - I totally agree. I miss Atlanta's C-D forum. (I miss Atlanta too, but that's a story for another day and another forum).

ohhh...is that why so many people who have moved are still here posting about Atlanta?

We're like the Hotel California...you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

The fact that I am NOT in Atlanta is all the more reason to spend so much time on the Atlanta C-D page. One of the best ways to keep up with home. I am gone for a season, but will be back one day.
