bringing 3 girls to 5SOS concert there tomorrow night. Are there any specifics I need to know? Any major road work going on in area?

How long will it take me to park & how early should I get there to park? I have a parking pass, but I've heard the parking is atrocious even with a pass.

Thanks for any info.

I don't have the answer, but am following this post because I'm going tonight for Chicago. It's going to be bloody hot; not excited about that. I haven't been there in about 15-20 years.

I commute past it some days (but take another way when there is an event), no major road construction really.

I cannot speak to parking as I have taken MARTA when I have been in the past.

MARTA and an Uber trip is what others have done in the past.

We went last year and went in the back way via Boulevard. No traffic at all. Super easy. Parking was a breeze. Leaving after the concert can be a real bottleneck, though.

JPD,

What part of town do you live in and how long did it take you to get there? Do you remember?

I live near the I-20 and Boulevard exit. It takes about ten minutes from there. Maybe 15 if you get all the red lights.

When I used to go via 75/85 (coming from the North side of town), my preferred route was to exit at University Avenue, go left under the highway, and take am immediate right after crossing under the highway. This takes you right to the parking lot with no traffic.

I second this route. I was there for a concert a couple weekends ago, no major road construction. We had someone drop us off and used Uber to get home, so can't comment on the parking situation (although the line to get into the free lot was quite long). However, we took Boulevard down to the Federal Penitentiary and went in the back way as well. No traffic at all. I live in Grant Park by the zoo, and it took about 10 minutes to get there.

CCATL,

I love Uber and would love to use them tonight if we could. Logistically, where did you meet up with them and how much lead time did you need to give? Would love to stay for the encore, but also not get caught up in the crowd if we could tonight.

I'd be surprised if it takes Uber more than 5 minutes to pick you up anywhere inside the city. Even during "off-hours". They get your location from the GPS on your phone and will call when they are near if they do not see you, no need to worry about a meet-up location with Uber.
