I just went to the Lowes at Edgewood.

Wow, what an experience in frustration!

All the 4-way stops really slow things down, and the parking lots are weird with a lot of concrete barriers and only a couple of ways to get through. So if you need to get to Lowes all the way in the back, you have to get caught up waiting on people backing out of their spots, stopping at stop signs, and waiting for pedestrians.

Getting to and from Lowes from the entrance/exit of the shopping center should have taken 30 seconds or less. It felt like it took 20 minutes, but I bet it literally did take 5 minutes.

Am I more impatient than most people? Yeah, probably.

And then getting out was no better. All I wanted to do was turn right onto Moreland, and had to wait a couple of light cycles to do it. The road out gets so backed up that it messes up the 4-way stop that is about 100 feet behind it.

I don't know if Edgewood is just way more popular than they thought it would be or suffers from horrible design, maybe a combination of the two. But wow....I sure am glad this isn't my neighborhood shopping center. I'd need to take a Klonopin to calm down every time I bought a bag of dog food.

Maybe my impatience was amplified because I was in a big hurry on my lunch break at work.

There's a back exit right behind Lowe's that takes you through Edgewood. Sometimes it's worth it to go that way and drive a little farther to avoid exiting at the Moreland traffic light.

It's been that bad from day 1. Here is the really scary part: the side with Kroger and Target is often worse than the Lowe's side.

Fuqua "urbanism"; A fail for cars and a fail for pedestrians.

Yep. He is my least favorite developer.

Good luck Cobb County.

I go here all the time, and it's definitely a hassle if you use any entrance besides the one by Figo. I don't even use the exit by Kroger because the traffic there is just too cramped. The people in the best position are those who are able to take MARTA, because if you can survive all the traffic turning onto Moreland, you're home-free.

Yeah. It's a badly designed Fuqua parking lot. A for effort on Caroline St., but F for execution overall.

Lowes is about the only shop that is easy to get into and out of--you are just using the wrong exit--go out the back and you'll be ok.

That's good to know. I just did what Waze told me, it apparently doesn't know all.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I couldn't tell if this parking lot really was horrible or if I had become even more curmudgeony.

I only go there once in a while but I am okay with it.

The big difference is that traditional malls usually have a ring road so that you can go zipping around the edge. With this one you have to go through the middle, which is slower. I just factor that in.
