There was one time when the spouse rushed to the airport and left the front door wide open for an entire day. Nothing was disturbed. I can't say the same thing for the nice, middle class DeKalb neighborhoods I grew up in during the 70s. They had more crime and problems despite a good school system and plenty of shopping. Housing In Clayton is of good quality and it is way too cheap for metro Atlanta. That is a warning that home prices will shoot up in Clayton as the market corrects for this anomaly.
Housing prices are already increasing in Clayton and homes are selling quickly. I guess younger folks have discovered us, which is a good thing.

^^^ Yes, and single family home construction has really taken off in my own neck of the woods of Clayton in the last 2 years. Most of it is appears to appeal to at least the average income to a decidedly higher income bracket of consumer.

I have lived in my home in Jonesboro for 11 years and my home is nice. I have wanted to move but due to property value and the unfortunate negative wrap that Clayton County has recieved my home value is low. I am constantly watching the home trends and they are beginning to rise. I am happy about this, - to be honest, I feel safe in my neighborhood and I have never had any problems. I wish my commute was shorter to work to downtown Atlanta but when I consider moving downtown - the cost and crime is a hinderance. I hope with good comments like I have read in this forum we can get grea neighbors to move back and make Jonesboro and Clayon County a grat place to live.

Thanks so much for this post. I had heard a lot of great things about Spivey Hall but it is never on my radar to check out a performance. And I definitely need to check out the museum of aviation sometime.

I understand there is a beautiful tennis facility there too.
