make no doubts about, Dekalb was the first and première suburban county. Only a couple of decades ago buildings like the now AT&T and Bank of America buildings were built near Ponce to be near high value commuters from DeKalb.

I agree with you, but also see what the other poster is saying. DeKalb has gone downhill, but it still has its première high value suburban areas. The county government just isn't managed well, but salesmsally.... that isn't exact calling it a hellhole.

As for Southwest DeKalb before the massive white flight seen in the 1970s, SWD was actually a fairly affluent middle class area. They were trying to get away from some of the apartments in the middle of the county. At the time Henry was a small county in the country. Henry, even today, is young as an all-out suburban county.
