My faves anyways.
Nuevo Laredo always has a parking lot full of people waiting to get in. So it must be damn good. Even though I live walking distance from it, we haven't been there in many years solely because there's always a huge wait.

Also love Bone Garden. The elote is pretty damn amazing.

So far, seems like every place suggested is west of 75/85.
Midtown/Westside, Cobb/Smyrna, Downtown...

Does anyone have any favorite Mexican spot on the Eastern sides of town?
As in Buford Hwy? Stone Mountain area? Decatur? Avondale Estates? Tucker? Gwinnett?
The lady the cuts my hair is Mexican, and her fave on Buford Hwy is Monterrey - barely ITP in Doraville.

I haven't been, but the reviews are good: Monterrey Mexican Restaurant - 39 Photos - Mexican - Doraville, GA - Reviews - Menu - Yelp

I also really like Zocalo on 10th in Midtown. The owners are from Mexico City, and it is pretty authentic in my opinion.

There's a Monterey in Lavista near Northlake, also. Are these restaurants related?

Back in Arizona, there was a local Mexican place that stayed open 24hrs. My wife would visit that place at sometimes 3am and order their nachos. I'd like to find that here if I can.

I'd also like to find some good authentic (as in what you'd find in San Diego, Los Angeles, Phoenix authentic). I've lived in all 3 of those western cities in my past (mostly San Diego). I'm hoping to find something similar what I grew accustomed to there. Don't care where I have to drive to find it. Just point me in the right direction.

Rolled tacos
Carne asada
Burritos
Carnitas
Enchiladas
Tamales
Empinadas

And some nachos
What youre discribing actually isnt purely authentic Mexican food. Its Sonoran/Baja Mexican fused with Southwestern food.

If you want some authentic Mexican food, find some Mole, Menudo, Lengua or Pastor Tacos.

I honestly don't know. I've been meaning to check them out, but can never find the time.

The last place I went that was new to me was La Parrilla, at Toco Hills. They are part of a local chain, but I liked everything about them. Dinner Menu | La Parrilla - Mexican Restaurant

Taqueria Del Rey on Buford Highway has terrific authentic tacos.

If you are looking for nachos though, you can get those at any Tex-Mex or even American restaurant.

Nuevo Laredo, and it's not even close. Close this thread now, because there is literally nothing left to say.
