At the same time, Six Flags White Water is adding the world's largest water slide!

This is great news....for people who have kids 6 and under. These are almost all kiddie rides.

The waterslide looks cool. I really like that it's the kind you go down on a mat instead of on your bare skin. But I don't know why we need 6 slides that are basically the same. I'd rather see them make a more interesting slide. But I guess this will have a lot of volume and funnel people in and out quickly, so that's good. I still think Lanierworld is much more fun than White Water. But I'm not 12-18 years old, and I think that's really the target market for water parks.

Maybe someone with kids can chime in and let us know if this news excites them or not.

Most of these "new rides" sound like thematic updates to existing attractions.

They're renovating the little kids area. That area seemed kind of tired and limited.

They've got one new coaster.

It's 7 brand new rides, and re-theming of 5 existing rides. The coaster isn't new, it's currently themed to Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner but will be re-themed to the Joker. Some of the new rides are more "family" rides, not just kiddie rides - for example a small drop tower and a "flyers" ride.

I think it would be cool if there were more 4D theaters or indoor rides there at Six Flags. There is hardly any shade at the park and when it gets HOT...well. Coasters are cool, but theater based entertainment can always change programming and get more visits.

I blame the copious amounts of asphalt, which not only traps heat but also gives off that horrible, damn-near sickening odor when its hot.

Air conditioned queues.

That is all.

It's just not THAT expensive to do.

The Joker appears to be a new coaster.
