Brookhaven residents and leaders had plenty of meetings for feedback. MARTA and the developer changed the design, reducing the density. But these project still has to be profitable.

A lot of folks moved to Brookhaven for reasons other than having high density TOD rammed down their throats. It's not a top priority for everyone.

Unless they moved there prior to 1984 (when the Brookhaven station opened), that excuse is garbage. Actually, now that I think about it, even those guys don't get a pass given that a MARTA station was planned for that site in 1971.

Even so, the massive parking lot was never intended to be there forever, especially once the line was extended to Chamblee in 1987 and most of the "end-of-line" commuters followed suit.
Here's a pretty good document from 1976 on what they expected the area's future development to be.

Why are you trying to make this about race, cq? It sounds to me like you don't much about Brookhaven.
As of 2010 Brookhaven was 61.52% White, 17.56% African American, 0.41% Native American, 4.88% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 12.64% from other races, and 2.94% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 27.41% of the population. I suspect it is even more diverse now.
