This time Atlanta apparently pulled it off.
A year after falling just short of being awarded the funds for neighborhood revitalization, this time the city is likely to be named a recipient of a $30 million "Choice Neighborhood Initiative" grant, Atlanta Business Chronicle has learned. The funds could spur millions of investment in Atlanta's overlooked West Side neighborhoods, once centers of urban housing and commerce.

Actually, I wonder about the justification for this type of grant at all. Money just going to 5 cities?
And its not like some kind of pilot project where the rest of the country could learn.

They better get Mims Park built. And also fix some southeastern neighborhoods with parks and development, the westside doesn't need all the attention.
