We're all really enjoying the change. The pace is definitely slower, but the big thing is that employers seem to realize that you have a life outside of work. There's tons of stuff for the kids to do, and it's incredible how much more house you can get for your money compared to NJ.

The commute from Canton and Kennesaw will likely be about the same- probably 45 minutes or so. From most points in Canton, she'd probably take Hwy 20 across to 75, and from Kennesaw she'd jump right on 75. The only downside to the Kennesaw commute may be the trip from the house to 75- while 99% of the traffic will be going 75 south from there, the roads leading to 75 are still a mess down there regardless.

Thanks to Neil and Jenny. Maybe the folks warning about the bugs just
don't want more folks from up north crowding the roads (which is understandable,
just ask Seattle people). All the best to you.

Thank you Bob and Jenny for your input. We just got an offer on our house in NJ hopefully it will be go smoothly, and we can come down and start looking. We are also considering English Oaks in Kennesaw. Does anyone have any info about this development? Any input you provide is greatly appreciated.

Default deciding between bridgemill and harmony on the lakes

We are getting ready to move from NJ and are now here in Georgia looking at houses. We saw houses we like in both Bridgemill and in Harmony on the Lakes. Can anyone tell us the advantages and disadvantages in both those communities? How are the social activities? Any input would be appreciated.

Try the Hunt Club in Kennesaw. it's sort of off 41 at old stilesboro & acworth-due westroads. I just sold my house there. We loved living there.
as far as bugs go, you're right, but nothing (except mosquitos) that a contract with Arrow Exterminating won't fix. Whatever yo do, don't use Terminex exterminators--they are rude, unresponsive and once they get you're money could care less when you're home gets overrun by fireants--a bi-annual event here in GA. Good luck!!

For the easiest commute to Emerson you would want to live in Kennesaw. It is NO WHERE near 45 minutes. To get to Emerson from Kennesaw it will be around 15 minutes. Either straight up HWY 41 or about three exits up 75N. There is only one town between Kennesaw and Emerson, Acworth. Coming from Canton wont be that bad but you will have to ride into Cartersville and get on 75 which will make it about 15 - 20 minutes longer than the ride from Kennesaw.
