I'm guessing it was meth or cocaine, not booze.

Apparently, someone crashed into the guardrail at this exact same spot again over the weekend.

Yeah, there have been at least two crash at this same spot since the car hit the house. There also were regular crashes into the guardrail before the house was ever built. This is only going to get more dangerous with more Beltline bikers and pedestrians coming soon. Hope they close the ramps or find some other solution before someone is killed or maimed too bad.

Honestly it is the fault of the drivers and we cannot design roads to prevent idiot drivers from crashing.

Rumble strips would wake up 90+% of these idiots and alert them that they need to slow down. There's no way to prevent 100% of these accidents, but there is a simple and cheap way to drastically cut down on accidents at this location.

I am sure rumble strips will be offered as a solution first but will only stop maybe half the crashes at best and will wear out over time. The other areas of a Beltline don't have this issue, of course they don't have highway ramps dumping cars on to them. We really should be fixing the latter. Cars are too dangerous to be mixing with Beltline traffic. Closing the ramps is a cheap option too. Just drop off a couple concrete barriers and take down the exit signs.

That would be the best solution, but that's not going to happen. That ramp is the only realistic way for the big rig delivery trucks to serve the Fuqua complex.

Sounds like a problem for Fuqua to have to deal with. Maybe building a big box on two lane residential streets wasn't the best idea.

Freeway ramps leading right on to the future Beltline is a very dangerous mix.
Another reason to hate drivers.
