The Braves development is excellent by any standard. Can't we all get behind something that is positive for the city as a whole?

The commercial and residential district is 0% public funded. Guess we are stuck at the GWCC.

It's a perfect combination of comedy and pathetic how a few on this thread are so vehemently against this project, or anything that is not located ITP or Kirkwood. No sense of community, just butthurt. Get over it. I am cheering for the entire region.

The Square area is part government, part restaurant and retail, surrounded by walkable neighborhoods. This lovely combination is the reason we decided to move here. We don't like typical cul-de-sac suburban development, and we also don't like the offerings in the CoA at our price point - either too little house, too rough around the edges, or not walkable enough, and often all three of those. So here we are in downtown Marietta, where, for us, at least, we have the best of both worlds: a new, sizeable, well-constructed home in a tightly knit, walkable neighborhood on a grid, a few blocks from a historic central business district with a plethora of shops and restaurants.

cq's original assertion was that there's nothing happening in Cobb County. Facetious or not, I had to point out that nothing could be further from the truth.

Oh well, at least we can take MARTA to get there.

We would never want something as destructive as a professional sports stadium in the eastside.

You had the Braves. You had Turner Field. You are talking out of both sides of your mouth now.
