First I would like to thank the board for helping me find a place in Atlanta. I moved here a month ago and love my area. Close to work and close to all the things i need. Although I have been here a month, my main goal is buy a house within a year so I am wasting no time in researching areas. I really like North Druid hills and brookhaven but they are very expensive. I would also prefer to stay closer to the city or outside the perimeter while not being too far away. What areas do you suggest to get a 3 bedroom single family for 300k to 350k. (or less). Ofcourse, that is safe, diverse and where a young couple can start a family. I work close to Tucker and it seems decent and affordable. What do you guys think of the area?

From the houses I've looked at in the area, and the retail selection, I think it's an affordable option not far from town.

I'm originally from CA and my family and I moved to GA in 2009 and we love living in Tucker. SO much that we are buying our second home in Tucker. I agree, North Druid hills and Brookhaven are very expensive. Maybe look into Sandy Springs or Dunwoody or Peachtree Corners. Good luck!

Tucker is a good area. I grew up there in the '80s, and returned for another decade as an adult for most of the '00s. It's going to get even better now that it's a brand new city. Expect to see significant improvements to the parks and zoning in Tucker over the next few years.
