Agreed, all of the above, though number three and No. 1 are two of the biggest, as there are other good shelters in good parts of downtown that don't look like that.

On the article, nice, trying to blame the city who has wanted to do any number of workarounds for this place, when the issues have been there for decades and they have clearly not tried to curb it one bit.

People just lingering on the streets all day long in filth and wretched circumstances aren't going to lash out if the place they call home doesn't give them some support, shocking.

1. Size, too big which creates a horrible environment of mass poverty and disease and perpetuates crime.

2. Location as well, as a homeless shelter has no business being in the center of one of the fastest growing and gentrifying areas of the city, preventing development by holding the area around it hostage and preventing walkability.

3. It's run horribly as well.
