I would say either Underground and/or Edgewood. They are both centrally located and well served by mass transit.

Those are good suggestions but remember you got keep the partiers away from residential area that don't want it. I Think South Downtown, Castleberry, And West Midtown. could work. especially west midtown

Remember the largest beltline city park will be on the West side. Nearly twice the size of Piedmont park, this park could host a lot of events. like Tomorrowland size events.

That area is also full of industrial brown field, warehouse and newly Lofts. There a few clubs in that area but a lot more clubs could be zoned to that area. And the city could encourage owners to open in that area vs else where in city. Cause it's out the way residential area and the Business of Midtown and Downtown.

Sixth Street Austin Texas

Quote:
The area around nearby 4th Street and 6th Street has been a major entertainment district since the 1970s. Many bars, clubs, music venues, and shopping destinations are located on East 6th Street between Congress Avenue and Interstate 35, and many offer live music at one time or another during the week. Traffic is generally blocked on East 6th Street and most crossroads from I-35 to Brazos Street on weekend evenings, and football home games (depending on pedestrian traffic), as well as holidays and special events, to allow the crowds to walk unfettered to the many venues that line the street.

East Sixth Street (known locally as Dirty Sixth) plays host to a wide variety of events each year, ranging from music and film festivals (such as South by Southwest) to biker rallies (such as The Republic of Texas Biker Rally) and the Pecan Street Festival.

The area of Sixth Street west of Lavaca is known as the West 6th Street District. Recently, a movement has been growing to develop this area as an entertainment district of its own, geared toward the live-music crowd.

LA's Sunset Strip

Quote:
The Sunset Strip is the name given to the mile-and-a-half (2.4 km) stretch of Sunset Boulevard that passes through West Hollywood, California. It extends from West Hollywood's eastern border with Hollywood at Havenhurst Drive, to its western border with Beverly Hills at Sierra Drive. The Strip is probably the best-known portion of Sunset, embracing boutiques, restaurants, rock clubs, and nightclubs that are on the cutting edge of the entertainment industry. It is also known for its trademark array of huge, colorful billboards.
