Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage (http://www.coldwellbankeratlanta.com/search/SearchForm.cfm - broken link)

You can go to the above web address, and select "Neighborhood" from the location drop down box and then type in Ansley Park. You will be able to see all houses currently for sale in that area. Just make sure to select the proper price range.

There are neighborhoods in Atlanta with the same kind of beauty but in the 300K-800K range - slightly more affordable than this.

There sure are. I think part of the reason that Ansley is so expensive is it's location in the heart of Midtown. It also doesn't hurt that this neighborhood was designed by the Olmstead firm back in the day.

Yes, I think it's a combination of location and home quality. Personally, I think the most beautiful homes in the city are in Inman Park. But the homes in Druid Hills are lovely, too. But in the photos above you can clearly see the high rises behind the homes and it makes for striking appeal.

Neighborhoods like mine (Candler Park), Virginia-Highland, Morningside, and parts of Midtown are on a lower "quality" scale than Inman or Ansley or Druid Hills - meaning they were never built as homes for the wealthy but for the regular folks, and Candler Park was built for the blue collar working joe. It's just that over the years the homes have been remodeled by the more fortunate members of the middle class (as well as by the urban pioneers who started it off) so those neighborhoods have a more comfortable and folksy beauty than places like Ansley and Druid Hills.

But there are so many neighborhoods in Atlanta that are just so wonderful to visit or live in.
