Most of the areas you listed as seeing are the ones of choice. Those are some of the best areas. You might want to consider adding the Emory Village area, downtown Roswell, Grant Park, Ponce City Market, and Westside as they are some of the hottest and most attractive areas.


As far as new urbanist developments, Atlantic Station is just OK. The one you REALLY need to see and take note of, is Glenwood Park just off of I-20 in east Atlanta. That is one of the very best new urbanist areas I've ever seen. It was built over approximately the past 10 years, but it looks like it was always there and always a part of the city fabric. The architecture looks classic and understated (but very nice), and is nearly all brick. It really is amazing even though some of it is still under construction. It's one of the places I would want to go first day there.
