Everytime I'm on the BeltLine the thought occurs to me that the missing piece to the puzzle is more 'social spaces' (coffee shops, cafes, ice cream stand, etc) along the trail. The only real space of the type I'm thinking of that exists right now is Ladybird, which is great but a) a beer is not always what is needed at the moment and b) Ladybird doesn't seem to be made for anyone outside the ages of 21-30

Parish, KoP window, Skatepark and greenspace, Freedom Pkwy overpass, the stores of Inman Park Village is a short detour off the trail.

There are lots of places near the trail. I'm talking about outdoor spaces on the trail where one can sit and have a cup of coffee/tea for example.

Parish has some picnic tables next to the trail.

The Beltline is overrated. Too many hipsters and cyclists, yuck.

Parish does have a few tables next to the trail but they kind of feel more like an afterthought and not the focus. Plus Parish is more of a a full on restaurant. I'm talking about more casual type places where friends can gather over coffee/tea/ice cream maybe light pastries or something. Basically I would like to see a few Ladybird clones but with a different focus.

I agree with the original poster....really surprised more businesses haven't tried to get in on the act.

Seems as though Ladybird are printing money right now.

Be interesting to see how Bell Street Burritos does when it opens considering its tucked away on the extension (which is 'soon' to become a full blown construction site)

Wouldn't places like KSM and PCM serve that focus? It is not a far detour off the trail. Also, there is The Inrwin Street Market as well.
