Plans Filed For 12th & Midtown’s Next Phase | What Now Atlanta

60 11TH STREET COULD FEATURE 14,000 SF OF RETAIL, 319 APARTMENTS.
Daniel Corporation and Selig Enterprises are moving forward with the next phase of their mixed-use development, 12th & Midtown.

The Atlanta-based developers submitted a building permit application to city of Atlanta Monday to develop land in Midtown where their next tower 60 11th Street could be constructed.

The tower, considered to be the sister tower of neighboring 77 12th Street, would offer more than 14,000 square feet of street-level retail, and 319 apartments spanning 20-stories.

An estimated $3,050,000 will be spent on “land disturbance” for the new mixed-use building, according to the permit application.

Wish they would have done something with the parcel of land on Peachtree first...across from STK. Such a shame to have such an eyesore parking lot in amongst all the high rises.

I wonder when will they put some new tenants (restaurants) in the old clothing store and furniture store space?

And that, my friend, is the $64,000 question.
The Atl version of The Magnificent Mile has not panned out thus far in terms of retail.
I see that phase 2 of 12th & Midtown is to include 14,000 sq ft of retail. Hopefully that will lease up & it won't be yet another case of a high rise residential tower w/ partially to largely vacant retail space at ground floor street level.

Hearing they are demanding way too much money on both sides of the street for those vacancies. If a national chain retailer can't financially survive in good times, CB2, how can a local establishment. The prices of the condos there are high, and not sure when they'll ever get a vendor in if they ask for that, good luck. They need to realize what Midtown is, and it's not that, not yet.

I think CB2 was a casualty of wrong timing. Thousands of new residents will be added in Midtown in the coming years to support new business.

Maybe this is what 12th and Midtown needs to build the tower across from STK
