Looks like Woolard is coming out for light rail on the Beltlline.

She is awesome. And she is right.

I am so glad that she and Gravel are chiming in on what the Beltline is becoming.

The original vision was always about transit--rail/trolley transit. With parks.

Woolard was the only candidate who had a plan for transit on the BeltLine. She fully understands what the BeltLine is about.

Still...most people aren't going to walk a mile unless there's a pretty significant reason. Just to pop in for lunch or grab a coffee will generally not meet that qualification. If you're meeting friends to spend the entire afternoon or evening doing something, then maybe.

I can't understand why people would think busses are the answer. Beltline should be Light Rail.

And she always has.

In the very early 2000s, she was the one that helped bring Gravel's thesis into the public consciousness.

It is sad to think what has become of the Beltline's concept.

The original concept was straightforward and simple:

1. Transit--as light rail or trolley.
2. Parks (new and expanded).
3. Trail.
4. Development opportunities in underutilized locales.
5. Linking/bridging neighborhoods
6. Neighborhood revitalization.

Transit and then parks were always the ultimate priorities. #'s 3-6 were to be by-products of #'s 1-2.

Why do you have to be hung up on some student's graduate thesis?
