Boyce, incumbent Lee neck-and-neck in Cobb chairman race | www.ajc.com

Quote:
Retired Marine Col. Mike Boyce out-gained incumbent Tim Lee in the Cobb Commission chairman’s race Tuesday night, but appeared to fall just short of an out-right win. The two candidates appear to be headed for a run-off election July 26.

...

Lee, chairman since 2010, ran a campaign that focused on the deal to build a new stadium for the Atlanta Braves.

Again making anti Cobb threads are pointless if Cobb does bad the region does bad it's a disadvantage for the region competing against other metros.

That Stadium was important to gain for Cumberland. And they also making more urban use of it with a mix use project something the CoA never did with Turner.

Where was an anti-Cobb comment posted? The OP simply linked results of a very important race.

Right on the mark!
Methinks that someone may have ben a tad on the defensive...
If they're not aware of it, Cobb County residents should know that their county commission chair race was overall perhaps one of the most watched local contests of the primary held yesterday.

OP is always posting negative stuff about Cobb, And He has made it very clear on his view of the Stadium and Cobb in general, he's very anti Cobb. I have debated him over the matters,

This is not a one time thing he's very anti cobb and hope Cobb fails. hautemomma is always taking shots at Atlanta as jsvh is always taking shots at Cobb.

Assuming the OP was inferring an anti-Cobb thread is just as bad as the crime you accused the OP of. Let the thread evolve and allow posters the chance to comment. Who made you the admin?

Yes cause it's assuming as if he hasn't made a dozen other anti Cobb threads, and made a bunch of anti Cobb post, OP and I haven't debated this in which has made it very clear he's anti cobb.

The anti cobb thing is silly, and if he going to be that dedicated he might as well make one thread.

OP did nothing but post an election result. There is nothing anti-Cobb about it.

That being said, can someone explain to me what this whole Cobb thing is about? Isn't it just part of Atlanta metro? What makes someone anti-Cobb, and why is Cobb anti-Atlanta?

He doesn't like that the Braves have went to Cobb, So he always posting threads that either celebrate a set back or something negative about Cobb.

This is a Election thread but what is the Election of? The guy who supported bringing the Stadium into Cobb could be losing his seat.... It's something negative relating to Cobb and their efforts to build the Stadium.

And the choices they are making on behalf of the county.

When people take issue with something "North Korea" is doing doesn't mean they hate every person in the country. The people there are not monolythic and many are probably not at all happy with the country. The problem lies with the leadership and power in the county. But that doesn't mean I can't take issue with problems in "North Korea" and need to single out each person individually.

So: F*** Cobb. F*** the Braves. If you or your "group" doesn't share those stances, then I am not talking about you.
But to answer your question some posters want Atlanta to grow but only Atlanta to grow which is not happening and is impossible. If Atlanta is to gain 3 million 3 million will not live in the 132 sq mi city. The City will grow but some suburbs have to plan more urban growth. Cumberland is important to the region in this aspect if Cumberland fails the region fails. Cumberland is using the stadium to anchor growth.

That's interesting, thanks. What about Cobb being anti-Atlanta? Is there truth to that? As a newcomer to this area I don't get what people would squabble about...Atlanta Metro is Atlanta plus all of its suburbs. Just like NYC metro includes parts of CT, NJ, and long island. Atlanta is the centerpiece though. Personally I think it would be better if more of the metro were part of the city of Atlanta though, too many cooks in the pot with all the different mayor's, commissioners, etc. Also it allows businesses to force the metro area to compete against itself - if Atlanta doesn't accept a developers bad terms they can just threaten to build the development in Smyrna or Sandy Springs and still get to be part of the metro. A unified city of Atlanta would hold more weight in that regard.
