Traveling through Atlanta from Florida on Sunday, July 3rd on I75 to Nasvulle, TN - any suggestion to avoid traffic. Elderly lady traveling alone! No night driving due to poor night vision, so can't go through 10: PM to 3: AM. Please help!

Just try and come through the Atlanta metro area as early as possible during daylight hours as you can as traffic may likely be lighter before about 9AM on a holiday weekend travel day like the 3rd of July.

If that is not possible then think about taking the I-285 Perimeter (Atlanta's loop highway) around the west side of the city to attempt to avoid any delays that might arise on I-75 through the city during peak travel hours (...though you should be warned that traffic may still be very heavy on I-75 north and south of Atlanta.)

Have a safe trip, enjoy your holiday weekend and have a Happy Independence Day/4th of July holiday!

I don't expect you will run into traffic issues on July 3rd - a holiday Sunday.

Weekends can be a nightmare when there is road construction - I-75 north of I-285 has been particularly bad recently due to the Windy Hill Interchange and new road signs for SunTrust Park. But construction is usually halted on holiday weekends.

You might hit a little traffic in Atlanta but overall you should be ok.

Do these things will traveling alone....

Get an ear piece for your phone. While driving talk on the phone to people you havent talked to in a while. Also talk with your regular friends. Talking helps time go by fast.

Have your fav music on-hand

Get a good night sleep and try to leave early. I like leaving for a long drive b4 the sun comes up so by the time the sun is out im already at least one hour into the drive

That shouldn't be a bad day at all. Monday's a holiday so the typical Sunday drive back is delayed a day. I would take 285 around the west side. The downtown connector can be confusing and people treat it like a slalom course.
