...I'm guessing that Chastain Park is much more exclusive than the other parks. It seems to have a high profile because of different events they have there.
The events aren't actually in the park but in the amphitheater around the corner. It is surrounded by high end houses and there is pretty much nothing you can do inside the park without some sort of membership. That being said, it has a safe-feeling and serene environment, but I only jog around the trail or walk my dog there.

Grant Park is very nice and considering all the development on Memorial, you have to consider it in the upper tier of ATL parks too.

I keep meaning to go to Woodruff, but haven't for some reason yet. Went to Lenox the other day and it was very nice, also Lullwater is very, very nice.

Tribble Mill Park in Gwinnett County is beautiful. I ran a half-marathon there and the dawn breaking and sun rising and the lake, made for a beautiful vista.

Last time I was there, there was a deer very close to the mansion right in the middle of the day. Another time, near sunset, there was a big buck drinking out of the lake.

Buckhead, not too far from Lenox Mall. Not exactly walkable from there, but not that far either.

It's not a park, however, Fernbank Museum of Natural History is going to open up some of the land behind the museum this year. Should be fun!
