Someone submitted this photo on another forum I frequented of Atlanta and instantly fell in love with the photo. What I noticed that there were two obvious hills in the photo and both were in the neighborhoods of Poncey and Virginia Highlands.

This photo was taken from the new 675 Highland apartment buildings...I guess from a top floor apartment so whoever has that will have amazing views.

Couldn't have anything to do with that road called "Highland", that runs right through both of them, could it?

Cool picture.

The neighborhoods are not called Poncey Highlands and Virginia Highlands.

The names of the neighborhoods are:

Poncey-Highland

Virginia-Highland

it's really amazing how cars have changed our view of topography. hills in atlanta, i imagine, used to be a pretty big deal when the only way you could get up one was to walk or ride one of those manual street cars up one. the difference in elevation between buckhead/vinings and midtown atlanta is really nothing short of striking, but we don't seem to make a big deal of it anymore.

THANK YOU.

And while we're at it, it's Toco Hill, not Toco Hills. Stop the bastardization.

The shopping center at Toco Hill is the cause of this confusion. It calls itself Toco Hills.

But even that is a bastardization from the original name.

Ultimately though, I couldn't give two s4!ts is someone says Highlands or Hills.

Toco Hills Promenade is only one section of the entire shopping center. Ownership was divided three ways until recently, when two of the sections were purchased with the intent to redevelop.

The neighborhoods are named after the confluence of 2 roads.
