Ok, well if a garden is not feasible there then so be it. However, it is quite simple to set them up in above ground planters - visit a few Post apartments.

As long as most of the community likes it and cannot come up with better ideas for the space. then I say fine. I know the US appears to have been the last country to catch the futbol bug, but sometimes I feel like JHC enough already. Anything from go carts to an outdoor grill restaurant sounds better to me.

Much of that concrete is part of the support structure, removing massive amounts could threaten the integrity of the structure. Also, there are walkways that connect Peachtree and Forsyth Streets to the Board St ped plaza. People can move above the station without entering the fare zone.

What's great is the space can be used a flexible sports area, since the artificial grass can be rolled up.

Since opening, the pitch has hosted an array of youth and adult soccer programs, enlivening the area, officials say. According to a recent press release, "Station Soccer" has attracted neighborhood kids to come out and play — “a hub for community activity in downtown Atlanta.”

Soccer Station-West End opening in Sept.

The Atlanta United Foundation and city officials announced today a collaboration with Soccer in the Streets and MARTA to expand the “Station Soccer” program to the West End station, where two new pitches will be bisected by the transit line itself.

Pretty cool idea. Is this going to be where the parking lot is? The rendering makes the train look much lower to the ground than it actually is. Are they going to cover the parking lot and build the soccer fields on the roof?

Like. This is really good.

Boston does a good job of adding playing fields near rail, overpasses, and underutilized airport-adjacent areas.
