Is anyone unhappy with life in the Atlanta metro and preparing to leave? Why are you leaving? Where are you moving to next - and why?

Yep, packing right now. Moving back home to the Chicago area. Other than the weather here in the Spring and Fall, I have nothing good to say about Atlanta so I'll leave at that. Adios Muchachos!

Better than living in Chicago where 50+ people are shot every weekend, the worst winter weather in the country, worst corruption in the country, worst segregated in the country, highest tax rates in America, city over $60 billion in debt, over 300 murders for the year, over 2000 people shot this year as of today, 33 people shot last Sunday, highest property and city tax, toll toads everywhere, traffic cameras everywhere, gets dark at 5pm in the winter, worst public school system in the country because of the debt, etc

It is completely OK that you posted this response because we are all emotional human beings and he mentioned something negative about Atlanta on an Atlanta forum.

We live in an emotional world and should only talk out of emotions... This has been a CNN, CBS, NBC, and ABC announcement.

I think peoples' circumstances in life distort their perception of a place. If things are bad for them, they're probably going to attribute that to their surroundings, at least to some degree. To say that you have nothing good to say about a place is pretty hyperbolic, even if you don't like it overall.

And with all those stats, Chicago is still far and beyond a better city than Atlanta! lol

btw, the vast majority of the killings are gang vs. gang and isolated to the South Side so no one really cares... Eventually they'll solve the problem themselves.

Such a shame that all posters can do is try to prove Atlanta is better than Chicago. It's part of the inferiority complex of this city that has done more to hurt it IMHO than help it.

Good luck in Chicago, may you find the greener pastures you seek.
