There's also the South Fork Conservancy, which will take you well into DeKalb.

South Fork Conservancy

Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Cobb and Gwinnett aren't messing around either.

I like the idea of using stream buffers to build multiuse trails. ABI and PATH Foundation built the Southwest Connector Trail in Beecher Hills that runs entirely along Utoy Creek North Branch.

Nice that there are so many different of these types of projects gearing up that we can confuse two of them!

Isn't the Peachtree Creek Greenway going to tie directly into the Beltline eventually south of Lindbergh?

The first phase of the Greenway, called the “model mile,” will run from the Salvation Army property near Corporate Boulevard and end at Briarwood Road. Construction is expected to begin in the early 2018. Most of the Greenway will be 14-foot wide concrete path. There will be some “pinch points” that are 12-feet wide and there will be some impervious sections of the trail as well, deMayo said. Estimated cost for this section of the Greenway is close to $6 million and is being funded through hotel/motel tax revenue.

This looks great!

Here's one thing I always wonder about. The article says: "Most of the Greenway will be 14-foot wide concrete path. There will be some “pinch points” that are 12-feet wide and there will be some impervious sections of the trail as well, deMayo said."

What is the difference between concrete and impervious? I hear this often but I thought concrete WAS considered impervious.

But think of the crime it will bring!!!! People will be biking down it with stolen TVs!

Brookhaven voices crime fears about Peachtree Creek Greenway trail plans | Curbed

According to Reporter Newspapers, a resident of nearby Pine Hills applauded the trail initiative in general but voiced concerns about parking, traffic, privacy, and crime. McBrayer reportedly responded that, in his nearly three decades of building trails, he’s never seen a correlation between new trails and spiking crime, adding: “That’s not a reality ... That’s your perception. If you go to any police department, they will say trails decrease crime.”

But several of roughly 30 attendees weren’t receptive to that. Some shook their heads, one spouted “ridiculous,” and four people walked out, the newspaper reported.

You're saying you can let strangers walk into your neighborhood on a trail behind your house and there's no risk of increased crime?

And at the same time we tell people not to leave laptops or phones in their cars because they are inviting theft?
