I guess this is good for the ATL, seeing as how we do a good bit of driving.

Quote:
Georgia gas prices hit an average $2 a gallon today, more than 15 cents below the national average. The average also comes after 49 days of decline, a consistency not seen in nearly two years.

In addition, AAA said 60 percent of gas stations across the state have prices even below that.

This is the lowest gas has been in 12 years when average prices ranged between $1.80 and $1.90 per gallon, AAA said.

There’s two factors contributing to the decline: abundant supplies and decreasing crude oil costs, said AAA.

I just filled up yesterday at $1.92/gallon. I definitely do not have any complaints. I know that prices will not stay this way forever. However, as long as we don't see $3-$4/gallon anytime soon, then I am good!

Just remember this next time the powers that be tell us gas is $4 because we are running out and there just isn't enough oil.

Yeah this is great, hope it lasts! It probably won't, and then everyone will dump their suvs and trucks and get small compact cars, leafs, and scooters lol.

Oil on the market =/= long term supply. Just because we're in a glut now, doesn't mean that we shouldn't still be concerned about global supplies.

We should be using this time of low costs to establish our alternative fuel sources, boost our clean energy infrastructure, and invest elsewhere.

This low-price won't last forever, and when it starts going back up we'll wish we'd been investing now.

Low gas prices are hurting our goal of building a more walkable and compact city.
