Getting into any higher education institution continues to be increasing competitive.

Just more competitive these days due to more applicants. Same with Tech.

My freshman year in 2002 the acceptance rate was over 50%, now it's down to 25.

As population increases, but the number of accredited top tier universities doesn't really go up, this will only continue.

Its not just the population. Its HOPE. But that has been discussed ad nauseam on here. College has gotten outrageously expensive. HOPE is parent's only hope.

Yeah it's funny when you hear uga fans call the tech fans nerds, yet it's just as hard to get into Georgia now as it is to Georgia Tech.

"....the average high school grade point average of first-year students is 3.98, which greatly exceeds last year's average of 3.91. In addition, the average SAT score for the incoming class reached a new high of 1302 this year. "

Whoa! Very impressive.

Don't look back, millennials -- Generation Z may be gaining on you.

They'll lose traction with all the debt weighing down on them once they graduate.

Uh, no it's not.

Wait until the post Tech's number. The AJC always posts UGA's stuff first and more of it.

UGA is a great school.
