If that happened, though, I'd absolutely take it every time.

How late do masquerade shows generally run? MARTA runs trains until 1:30a on weekdays and at least 1:15a on weekends from five points. Would love to see it run a bit later of course.

Their concerts don't run particularly late. But some of the club nights go until 3am.

Concerts usually end before that, but the dance club probably stays open later.

EDIT: Looks like DJDeadParrot was posting the same thing at the same time.

Well, developments like this will do nothing but help push for later hours on MARTA. I truly hope this is a more permanent location than temporary. It will be so nice to have an entertainment option such as this in the core of downtown.

Yes, I hope this becomes a permanent move for them. It will be great for UA and the area.

If anyone is thinking of buying in South Downtown, now is the time.

I want to soooooo bad it is killing me. Downtown in general has become our (well, my) primary area to consider for an upcoming move.
So glad I closed on my place in South Downtown in March! Now if the city would just hurry up with the permits so we can start the renovations and I can move in! Very excited to start living there. The more people that move down there the better it will be. Too many empty buildings.

Didnt even know it had a club inside. I thought it was strictly for live shows so this is even better news. Downtown needs this. Hopefully the process with them getting their liquor license will be fast. Maybe they can even expand in the future since they will have space for it in UA

Do they still have those weird liquor laws governing UA that allow for later pours?

Nice move jsvh! Curious, does South Downtown denote that you (or anyone) is south of Marietta St?

I don;t know what the setup will be for the new location, but the Masquerade was set up like this:

Heaven: top floor, live music room

Purgatory: middle level, smallest room. Bar, sometimes had live music.

Hell: bottom level, mostly a dance club, but sometimes had live music.
